With more than 30 years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer, James has worked closely with boards to bring structure, financial clarity, and long-term planning to complex organizations during periods of growth and operational challenge. As an experienced financial and governance leader, James believes effective HOA boards exist to serve homeowners through transparency, accountability, and disciplined decision making.
James brings a community-focused approach grounded in sound governance, responsible reserve management, and strong financial controls. He has significant experience creating value through vendor negotiations and contract oversight, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and homeowner funds are used wisely. His background includes restoring order to financial processes, improving reporting, and establishing clear accountability. Skills directly applicable to today’s HOA environment.
James believes our community benefits from clear rules, consistent enforcement, and decisions made in the best interest of all owners. As a candidate for the HOA board, he is committed to fulfilling board responsibilities in accordance with our Governing Documents and Florida Statutes, strengthening governance practices, and helping return the Association to a stable, well-managed, and trusted operation that protects property values and the long-term health of the community.
While James maintains a demanding full time work schedule, he views serving on the HOA Board as an important obligation. James is committed to volunteering at this critical juncture to make a difference for Hammock Reserve.
Karin has been a licensed clinical psychologist for 19 years. She is trained in ethics, accountability, and professional standards. As a licensed professional, she is required to adhere to strict ethical guidelines, maintain transparency, and act in the best interests of those she serves. This ethical foundation naturally supports responsible financial oversight and principled decision making.
As a psychologist, Karin is an advocate for community well-being. She understands how instability, lack of transparency, and conflict impact residents’ sense of safety and cohesion. Serving on the board would allow Karin to promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and mutual respect to strengthen not just financial stewardship but the overall health of the community.
Since moving into Hammock Reserve, Karin has taken on an active role. She serves on the Hammock Reserve Grievance Committee, and she initiated the soon-to-be added Welcoming Committee at Hammock Reserve. Also, she served on the recent roofing interview panel with three other residents to help find the best rate among local roofers for Hammock Reserve residents.
Karin believes that a board should be open, honest, and transparent without personal agendas, cost conscious, financially responsible, and community driven where every resident is treated as a shareholder and should be seen and heard. She believes all major decisions should have voter input. Karin is committed to ensuring full transparency and making sure our HOA funds are used efficiently and stopping unnecessary and wasteful spending.
Karin believes in volunteering to make a difference in her community and will consider it a privilege to work together with residents, listen to and address their viewpoints and concerns, and achieve our shared goals.
Gary founded and operated a successful Information technology business from 1986 to 2006. Gary has twelve years of experience serving on the Hammock Reserve ACC under 3 different Boards. He served as Treasurer on a Hammock Reserve Board and also served as Vice President on a previous Hammock Reserve Board.
Homeowner’s have asked Gary to run because they consider the recent dues increase unfounded. As a homeowner, Gary worries about more unannounced increases, special assessments, and fees. He recommends the Community elect new Board members who will immediately review all budget items, cut all unnecessary spending, reduce our monthly dues and return to proper fiscal responsibility for all homeowners in Hammock Reserve.
Gary is committed to providing Board leadership that will consider the needs and objectives of all community members before major decisions are implemented.
